Good lash extension aftercare is how your set stays full until your next lash fill. Here's exactly what I ask every client to do.
The eight rules
01 to 08- 01/
Keep them dry
Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hours.

No curling
Do not curl your lashes. They already have the curl built in.
- 03/
Back or side
Sleep on your back or your side so you are not crushing them.
- 04/
Skip the mascara
Avoid mascara, even waterproof.
- 05/
Hands off
Be careful not to pull on your extensions or rub your eyes.
- 06/
Book your refill
Schedule your refill within 2 to 3 weeks.
- 07/
Water based only
Use only water based makeup and makeup remover.

Oil free
Use oil free products around your eyes.

Aftercare questions
How long do lash extensions last?
Extensions are attached to your natural lashes, so they fall out as your lashes naturally shed over a few weeks. With good aftercare, a lash fill every 2 to 3 weeks keeps your set looking full.
Can I shower with lash extensions?
Not for the first 24 hours. After that, yes. Keep the water off your face where you can and pat them dry.
How long does a lash fill last?
Same as a fresh set: about 2 to 3 weeks before your next fill.
Why are my lashes falling out?
Some shedding is normal, since your natural lashes fall out every day. Oil, rubbing and sleeping on your face make it faster.
What are the downsides of lash extensions?
They need upkeep. You'll want a lash fill every few weeks and a little care, like no oil based products and no rubbing.
Are lash extensions out of style in 2026?
Not at all. Softer, wispier sets that suit your eyes are in, and that's how I work.
